"HOLDING OUT FOR HIRO" hits #1 on "The Dr. Demento Show"! [Oct. 7th, 2007|11:46 pm]

Even after almost eleven years of being played on nationally syndicated and legendary comedy music radio program "the Dr. Demento Show" and rising to become his most requested artist of the 21st Century, I still have some milestones left to hit. And tonight, I hit another one. For the first time, a new song of mine DEBUTED ON THE FUNNY FIVE COUNTDOWN AT #1!!!

"HOLDING OUT FOR HIRO" is my parody of Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out For A Hero" about the hit sci-fi TV show "Heroes", centering around the character Hiro Nakamura. It features Carrie Dahlby on vocals, music by Jared Ringold, and keyboards by ShoEboX of Worm Quartet. After two weeks in a row of airplay on the show, "Hiro" made it's debut appearance on the weekly Funny Five countdown of the most requested songs of the week at #1! I want to thank all you Dr. Demento fans, Heroes fans, FuMP fans, and Luke Ski fans out there who requested it and shot it to the top like a flying politician carring his exploding brother! If you'd like to hear the episodes featuring the song's appearances, you can listen to them (for $2 an episode) at the show's official website, http://www.drdemento.com .

If you'd like for the good Doctor to keep playing the song on his show, and also keep it on the weekly Funny Five countdown, then I encourage you to submit a REQUEST for him to play it again! You can do so at the show's official request page, http://www.clamhead.com/drd.php . You can also request by emailing drdemento@drdemento.com, calling the request line 562-ODD-TUNE, or you can snail mail them at: The Dr. Demento Show, P.O. Box 884, Culver City, CA 90232.

If you'd like to DOWNLOAD THE SONG FOR FREE, you can still do so at the main page of the website of "The Funny Music Project", also known as "THE FuMP", at http://www.theFuMP.com . It'll be up there until the end of the day on October 11th. After that, it will move to the archive page, where it will cost $.99 to download. You can also find it at my MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/thegreatlukeski .

Other songs of mine from "The FuMP" you might want to listen to
and/or request for "the Dr. Demento Show" (http://www.clamhead.com/drd.php) include:
My "DOCTOR WHO" tribute rap parody, "IT TAKES WHO":
http://www.thefump.com/fump.php?id=58
My comedy music anthem with MC Lars, "DEMENTIA REVOLUTION":

Thanks again everyone! I hope you're all enjoying "Holding Out For Hiro", please tell your friends about it! And here's to continued great episodes of both "The Dr. Demento Show" and "Heroes: Season 2"! :D

Hi all,

For those interested..

http://www.primatechpaper.com/

Once you get to the website, click on the link that takes you to the
"About Us" page.

After that, move your mouse over the company logo, and the
helix will appear in red (its part of the logo). Click on the helix and you'll
get a prompt to enter a login name and password. The login name is "Bennet"
and the password is "claire."

When you click on the files of the people in the "secret area," you need to
click on the top file first (the one with a siloette of a woman). Once there,
you'll get the login/password prompt, again. This time, the login name will be
"bennet" and the password will be "HGghx11a". This will give you the profile
for the new character, Hana Gitelman (aka: "Wireless")

NOTE THIS MAY LEAD TO SPOILERS!!!

have fun:)

It's almost here gang!

Tomorrow night at 8.30pm on Seven

Memorise it, put it in your calender, set up your phone to alarm you when there are five minutes to go... Tattoo it in reverse on your forehead so when you look in the mirror you see it!!!

Do not miss it!

A whiteboard post, like the one posted in the Australian Idel community will be put up tomorrow at this time. Anyone who wishes to comment on the show while it is running is welcome to post comments there. Just stay on topic and remember the 'no flaming' rule.

Reviews of the show made after broadcast or the next day should be behind a LJ cut. This way, people who haven't watched it yet don't get it spoilt if it pops up on their friends page.

Enjoy the show everyone and I can't wait to hear what you all think of it.

Your friendly mod who is still in search for a co-mod to help out
